Job description

CNC Plasma Machine Operator

ABOUT ARMI

Since 2003, our family-owned business has specialized in process and utility piping, expanding into multiple business units over the years. We now offer nationwide services in Process & Utility Piping, Process Equipment & Installation, Thermal Fluid, and Industrial HVAC. As industry leaders, we maintain elite standards by hiring top talent. ARMI is known for work safety, meeting deadlines, quality production, and staying within budget. We believe in reinvesting in our people and supporting the local community—because we succeed together.

THE ROLE

As CNC Plasma Machinist, you run our containerized 5-axis CNC plasma pipe cutting machine at active jobsites — miters, saddles, holes, and weld-prep bevels on pipe of every size, cut right the first time and staged ahead of the crews. You’re the cutting line for a lean field team. One machine, every spool. High ownership.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • The machine — program, set up, and run the 5-axis CNC plasma pipe cutter and two plasma machines, jobsite to jobsite
  • Weld prep — bevel angles and lands cut to the WPS, so welders strike an arc instead of grinding
  • Programming — cuts built from isometric and spool drawings; cut sheets sequenced to stay ahead of every crew
  • Quality & traceability — dimensions, angles, and bevels verified before parts leave the conex; heat numbers tracked from pipe to piece
  • The conex — mobilization setup (power, air, gas, fume management), an organized production-ready station, and road-ready teardown
  • Maintenance — daily torch and machine care, consumable changes, issues flagged before they become downtime
  • Safety — hot work permits, fire watch, rigging, PPE, and client site rules — including sanitation boundaries in operating food plants

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2+ years running CNC cutting equipment, or strong pipe fitting/fabrication experience with the aptitude to learn the machine — we will train the right pipe person
  • Ability to read isometric and spool drawings, weld symbols, and cut sheets
  • Working knowledge of weld prep — you know why the bevel spec matters, not just how to cut it
  • Experience with plasma cutting of carbon and stainless pipe preferred
  • Forklift or telehandler ability and safe rigging practices
  • Organized, self-directed, and production-minded — crews count on what comes out of your conex every hour
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; travel to project sites as needed
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

WHAT ARMI OFFERS

Pay That Reflects Every Hour You Work

Base hourly pay + automatic time and a half over 40 hours + time and a half every Saturday + double time every Sunday. Work a holiday? You receive your full 8-hour holiday pay plus double time for every hour on the job. Our people in the field out-earn the market — the weekly check proves it.

Quarterly performance incentives on top of that.
