Job description

Job Overview:
Primoris Services Corporation is a leading provider of critical infrastructure services to the utility, energy, and renewables markets throughout the United States and Canada.
Q3 Contracting (Q3C), a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned and operated construction contracting company that provides both specific and turnkey services for its customers in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industry. We are headquartered in Minnesota, with branch offices in Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
We are actively hiring a Project Manager I to support all aspects of project execution within the Operations Team at Q3 Contracting, Inc, Primoris Services Corporation.
After the training period subsides, this position will become hybrid, working two days at home and three days from the Commerce City, Colorado office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of project execution including monitoring resource utilization, developing change orders, supporting documentation, and advising Operations Manager of critical issues and their resolution.
  • Analyze and review cost/budget expenditures.
  • Create detailed cost reports, charts, and diagrams.
  • Collect cost and performance updates from construction management personnel.
  • Document historical cost and schedule data.
  • Support and guide Operations Managers in assessing project profitability.
  • Facilitate monthly invoice generation and preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Project accounting set-up at project initiation and close-out at project completion.
  • Report monthly for active projects.
  • Document control duties assigned on projects.
  • Document estimates and proposals.
  • Create time and resource schedules utilizing Critical Path Method scheduling tools.
  • Change control and risk management processes.
  • Mentor colleagues with less experience.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Utilities construction industry.
  • Bachelors in construction management, business management, or accounting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling software.
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in cost accounting, scheduling, or project controls for construction projects.
  • Very proficient computer skills using MS Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
  • Works well under pressure, responds appropriately to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-Oriented.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
