Job description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join a growing service team supporting gas compression packages across customer sites. This role is focused on servicing, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of both internal combustion and electric-driven compressor systems.


This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically and electrically minded technician looking to develop within field service and progress into a Senior Field Service Technician position. The position offers extensive hands-on exposure to compressors, engines, controls, and production equipment across varied field environments.

Field Service Technician / Gas Compression Technician / Compressor Service Technician Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on gas compression packages
  • Assist with compressor, engine, and controls rebuilds and overhauls in field environments
  • Support installation, commissioning, startup inspections, and deployment of new equipment
  • Conduct mechanical inspections using precision measurement and diagnostic equipment including micrometers, pressure gauges, and electronic diagnostic tools
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and recurring equipment issues in a timely manner
  • Complete field service reports, timesheets, expense reports, and service documentation daily
  • Participate in call-out and emergency service rotations as required
  • Deliver professional customer support while maintaining company standards and safety expectations

Field Service Technician / Gas Compression Technician / Compressor Service Technician Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Technician, Compressor Technician, Gas Compression Technician, Rotating Equipment Technician, Mechanical Technician, Production Equipment Technician, Service Engineer, or similar technical field role
  • 3–5 years of applicable mechanical and/or electrical service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs independently
  • Knowledge of gas compression equipment and production equipment maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must supply standard trade tools (excluding OEM-specific diagnostic equipment)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background checks, and physical assessment
