Job description

FlexStaff is seeking Mammography Technologists for our client, in their health care centers throughout the metropolitan area. 

Various positions open in the Bronx.  

Shifts

  • 8:00am-4:00pm
  • 9:00am-5:00pm

Evening and Saturday availability required

Salary levels are commensurate with experience 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Preparation & Protocol Execution:

  • Review patient clinical data and imaging orders, interpreting requisitions with accuracy.
  • Execute mammography and X-ray protocols in strict accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Implement infection control measures and Universal Precautions to ensure a safe environment.
  • Adhere to all administrative policies, including those concerning patient rights, abuse, and HIPAA.
  • Verify patient identity using two-identifier system.
  • Assist patients with garment changes and positioning for examinations, ensuring comfort and safety.

Image Acquisition & Documentation:

  • Perform mammography and general radiographic imaging procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all examinations performed within the PACS/RIS.
  • Document pertinent patient history and procedural details to support radiographic interpretation.
  • Address and correct any archival errors promptly.

Technical Operations & Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular checks on diagnostic equipment functionality.
  • Operate all imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or performance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of preventative maintenance logs.

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all mammographic and X-ray images are of diagnostic quality and patient information is accurate.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of MQSA/FDA quality control and assurance requirements.
  • Actively participate in QA program initiatives and meetings.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms.

Professional Competency & Development:

  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities.
  • Maintain current registry credentials, licensure, and educational requirements.

Workplace Standards:

  • Adhere to the organization’s dress code, attendance, and punctuality policies.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with organizational standards (e.g., ICARE).
  • Ensure all patient information is handled with the utmost confidentiality per HIPAA.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current New York State License as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), specifically in Mammography (ARRT (M)).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree 
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • System Proficiency: Experience with GE PACS and EPIC
