Job description

Important!  Effective immediately, Flagler College students are only permitted to have two (2) active work study assignments.

The Department of Performing arts is looking for a Costume Shop Student Aide (CSA) who will work in the costume shop as stitchers for the build, load-in, tech, and strike of all Productions and report directly to the Costume Shop Supervisor 


Student worker positions provide valuable on-campus employment opportunities that support departments while helping students develop professional skills. These roles are intended to enhance the student experience through meaningful work aligned with academic and career interests.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to learn the costume inventory database software and photograph and import images. Good organizational skills.  Basic sewing skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Have own transportation.  Self-motivated and congenial.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Climbing ladders, lifting heavy boxes, carry things up and down 2 flights of stairs. Sitting for long periods of time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain the organization of the costume shop.
  • Photograph garments and import images into the database.  
  • Label garments with individual SKU numbers and match them with the database record.  
  • Record the specifics of each garment including size, condition, source, productions associated with the garment, era, and general description of the garment.  
  • Assist with alterations and stocking.
