Job description

At the Tom James Company, an office professional supports our sales team members, store leaders, and key organizational leaders fulfilling our mission to be a global leader in the fashion industry. An office professional is a valued member of the Tom James support team.
 
We currently have a part-time opening in our Norfolk, VA office. Our position is for 12 hours per week at $19.00 per hour. We offer a generous PTO plan, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan.
 
Regular onsite attendance required.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving & Shipping

Unpacking received shipments daily 

Prepping and steaming garments for delivery and placing on Sales Professional's rack

Processing returns, remakes, and alterations

Preparing clothing for delivery by Sales Professional

Picking up and delivering client items as needed

Alterations 

Entering alteration instructions into the proprietary system

Delivering/picking up garments to/from outside contractor tailors 

Preparing alteration report for corporate office

Telephones/E-Mail/Mail

Answering incoming phone calls and relaying messages to appropriate Sales Professional

Checking store e-mail daily and forwarding information to relevant person(s) 

Making bank deposits and running errands

Making follow-up calls to factories, customers, and corporate office

Performing other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience using social media platforms for marketing and research purposes

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines

Strong organizational skills

Ability to bend and lift 30 lbs.

Valid driver's license except in larger metropolitan areas where driving is not required
