Your Responsibilities as a Garage Door Installer


As a Garage Door Service Technician, youโ€™ll be responsible for repairing and installing garage door parts and equipment on-site at our customerโ€™s location.

โ€ขDiagnose and Repair โ€“ Youโ€™ll be responsible for repairing garage doors, door operators, replacing worn or broken door parts, installing new equipment including doors, and replacing springs.

  • Installation - You will install garage doors using industry best standards and manufacturers guidlines.

โ€ขEducating the Customer โ€“ Youโ€™ll explain in detail and help the customer understand their options to repair the issue and prevent future ones. After the work is done, youโ€™ll review and explain it to customers so that they fully understand the work performed.

โ€ขSell Service, Repairs, and New Equipment โ€“ Using our proven model, which we train you in, youโ€™ll sell services to the customer using a good/better/best model. Youโ€™ll also collect payment from the customer.

โ€ขManage Inventory in Your Vehicle โ€“ Youโ€™ll need the right equipment, tools, and products to properly sell the job and service the equipment.

Requirements for the Service Technician Role


Basic Position Requirements

โ€ขMust have mechanical aptitude and technical skills.

โ€ขMust have a valid driverโ€™s license & clean driving record.

โ€ขMust be able to lift 50 pounds independently.

โ€ขMust be able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.

โ€ขMust be able to work in the heat and cold, both outside and inside garages that may not be temperature-controlled.

โ€ขBe reliable and able to serve our customers following our process.

Knowledge

โ€ขExperience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required โ€“ we will train you.

โ€ขMust be able to use a computer and/or tablet. You canโ€™t be afraid of technology.

โ€ขMust be able to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.
