Salary Range: $40,000- $45,000 (non-negotiable)

Qualifications and Competencies 
  • Minimum of AA in Social Work or relevant Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Lived experience with experiencing trauma from community violence and/or civil unrest is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (English- Haitian Creole or Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent networking
  • Excellent oral communication skills: ability to relate with people of diverse cultural and socio- economic
  • Demonstrates knowledge of targeted at-risk communities in the respective County and knowledge of community
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Self-reliant and results oriented.
  • Must possess proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to successfully navigate through the Internet, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other applicable software.

This position will require independent travel between headquarters and outreach communities as well as training and meeting venues.  The Community Mobilization must have reliable transportation,  always maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurance coverage on personal vehicles during employment. 

Position Summary

Gang Alternative, Inc.’s Collective Action for Addressing Trauma Program involves programming in the tri-county area, namely: Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties. It is designed to effectively address community violence and collective trauma, using a comprehensive, integrated, and multi-sectoral approach to substance use prevention, violence prevention, and trauma-focused community engagement.

Community Mobilization “take resources to the community” and being the bridge between the community, Gang Alternative, Inc., and other community service providers. These individuals work in target areas conducting outreach efforts to communities affected by collective trauma (civil unrest, community violence, etc.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Conduct active recruitment and engagement of program participants, including high-risk youth and their families in target
  • Support Therapist and Community Engagement Specialist in planning community-level sessions, activities, and
  • Conduct participant intakes, eligibility verification and documentation according to funder and Gang Alternative, Inc.’s guidelines.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with participants.
  • All other duties as assigned.
