Job description

Ready to Launch Your Safety Career?
Are you studying occupational safety, HR, communications, or something adjacent - or maybe you've just always been the person who notices the hazard before anyone else does? Do you speak English and Spanish fluently and feel comfortable leading a conversation in both? Are you organized, a strong communicator, and ready to learn how a real safety program operates from the inside?
We're not looking for a seasoned safety professional. We're looking for someone earlier in their career who's motivated, bilingual, and ready to grow into a full-time role on our Safety & Risk team. This is a permanent, full-time position - not a temporary internship - and we'll train you on everything you need to know.
About Ally Waste
Ally Waste Services is a premium provider of waste support services to apartment communities across the United States. We're a fast-growing company with a high-energy culture - a great place to work for people who want to build something real. Our team values hard work, humility, and genuinely caring about the people we work with.
What This Job Actually Is
This is a desk-based, primarily virtual role. You'll join our Safety & Risk team and support the day-to-day work that keeps our company and our people safe. You'll learn how to run virtual safety meetings, coordinate insurance claims, create training content, and communicate safety information to a bilingual workforce.
You won't be thrown in the deep end alone - you'll work alongside experienced safety leaders who will teach you the ropes. But you will be expected to show up organized, take ownership of your tasks, and communicate clearly. If you're looking for a place to learn and grow, this is it.
What You'll Do
We'll train you on all of this:
Safety & Compliance
  • Support safety inspections and hazard assessments by coordinating with field teams virtually.
  • Help coordinate and track employee safety training; keep records organized and current.
  • Assist with incident investigation and documentation.
  • Monitor PPE availability and flag issues to the safety team.
  • Learn to use Samsara to track driver safety metrics and support coaching conversations.
  • Stay current on OSHA basics and communicate requirements to field employees.

Virtual Meetings & Communication
  • Participate in and eventually lead virtual safety meetings for drivers and employees via Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Deliver bilingual (English/Spanish) communications, reminders, and updates to our workforce.
  • Help prepare meeting materials, agendas, and follow-up notes.

Claims Support
  • Assist with coordinating insurance claims - workers' compensation, auto liability, and property damage.
  • Help gather incident reports, photos, and documentation in a timely, organized way.
  • Communicate with insurance providers and internal teams under guidance of the Safety Manager.
  • Learn to track claim progress and maintain organized claim files.

Content Creation & Technology
  • Help create bilingual training videos, flyers, and digital content using tools like HeyGen and Canva.
  • Learn and navigate our core platforms: SafetyAmp, Samsara, Google Workspace, Paylocity.
  • Support the team with tech-forward ways to improve training and communication.

Who We're Looking For
No professional safety experience required. Here's what matters:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish - this is a hard requirement. You'll use both every single day.
  • Comfortable on video calls and genuinely okay with being on camera for virtual meetings.
  • Highly organized - you keep track of deadlines, follow up without being reminded, and your files aren't a mess.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator in both languages.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (safety, HR, business, communications, or similar) - or have some work experience that shows you're a self-starter.
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly - Google Workspace is a must; everything else we'll teach you.
  • Interested in building a career in safety, risk, or HR - not just looking for any job.
  • OSHA 10 is a bonus. If you don't have it, we'll provide it.

What We Offer
  • $20-$25/hr - competitive for an entry-level role with room to grow.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Hands-on training from experienced safety and risk professionals.
  • OSHA certification provided if you don't already have it.
  • A permanent, full-time seat on a team that's building something - this is not a temp-to-hire situation.
  • Real career growth potential as our safety program expands.

Ready to Apply?
Send us your resume and a quick note about yourself - tell us about your bilingual background, any relevant coursework or experience, and why you're interested in safety. We're not looking for perfection, we're looking for the right person. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
