Job Description

Position Overview:

The PR Director for Checkout Tracking will be responsible for planning and executing communication strategies to support business goals for NPD's Checkout Tracking, a new service which provides a comprehensive view of consumer buying behavior based on receipt tracking of online and offline purchases. The PR Director will create compelling content illustrating broad industry trends, thought leadership, and business applications for Checkout Tracking. He or she will also be responsible for driving and distributing content through multiple media platforms and introducing innovative formats to tell a compelling story and pave the way for sales. In addition to working closely with Checkout Tracking management, the individual will collaborate with NPD's Content and Marketing teams to ensure program integration.

Responsibilities:

Partner with Checkout Tracking management to create, refine and communicate key messages. Ensure consistent use of messages and provide ongoing communication counsel

Conceptualize and develop compelling story angles and pitch concepts based Checkout Tracking data, focusing on retail trends and business applications

Work with media outlets to place broad retail or B2B stories in national and regional business and consumer media 

Execute and deliver regional and other targeted campaigns to support sales efforts

Coordinate with Sector PR leads on industry-specific articles and opportunities

Write byliners, backgrounders, press releases, and introduce new content formats

Drive and deliver content through diverse channels (including company Website, social channels) 

Identify conferences and speaking opportunities and pursue and manage speaking engagements for Checkout Tracking executives

Collaborate with Marketing to provide input on advertising, marketing and promotion plans

Qualifications

7+ years of strategic communications experience in B2B environment

Successful track record delivering programs that meet or exceed business goals

Expertise across diverse channels and platforms (owned, earned, and paid media)

Excellent presentation, relationship building and communication skills

Strong leadership, conceptual, and creative problem solving skills

In-depth knowledge of the retail landscape a strong plus
