  • Shape the story and narrative content for the DisneyLorcanaTCG: Generate ideas for compelling, well-structured narratives, including themes, plotlines, characters,Develop engaging, high-quality narrative content appropriate for a trading card game that celebrates Disney intellectual property, Create written materials including card flavor text, short- and long-form stories, and marketing copy with strong attention to detail and storytelling craft
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams: Partner with game designers, art directors, producers,and otherwriters to seamlessly integrate gameplay mechanics and narrative, ensuring a cohesive and fun player experience, Participate in brainstorming and writers’ room sessions with narrative and art teams to develop set stories,andcharacters, Provide narrative input during development to support clarity of vision and creative alignment across teams.
  • Demonstrate narrative and TCG expertise: Apply knowledge of trading card games and card mechanics to craft narratives that reinforce gameplay and player understanding, Communicate visual story ideas through writing by developing clear, concise, and inspiring art briefs for card illustrations that convey both narrative intent and gameplay functionality.
  • Maintain lore continuity and long‑term storytelling: Conduct research on Disney intellectual properties and established lore to ensure accurate representation and thoughtful integration into the Lorcana universe, Support long-term world-building by viewing story and game as a unified system that evolves from past releases through current sets and far into the future.
  • Communication and presentation: Clearly and concisely present narrative ideas, pitches, and documentation to internal teams and stakeholders, Contribute to presentations and creative pitches that articulate narrative vision, themes, and storytelling goals.

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a Narrative Designer or equivalent,in games is required with proven success in narrative design and writing demonstrated through shipped game titles.
  • Strong background in game narrative processes; experience with tabletop games and trading card games is a plus.
  • Experience in world‑building; prior work on trading card games is highly valued.
  • Preferred experience working creatively with licensors.
  • Ability to craft and deliver engaging presentations, creative pitches, and clear narrative documentation with proven success collaborating creatively in writers’ room environments.
