Job description

KVEO is seeking a passionate Multimedia Journalist who loves sports and storytelling. If you thrive on capturing the excitement of the game and sharing compelling stories across platforms, this is your opportunity! One day you might be covering high school football, or a Division I program, and the next, the NBA G-League RGV Vipers. Your work will shine on broadcast, digital, and CTV.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports sports stories for broadcast
  • Write engaging sports content for digital platforms.
  • Produces content for CTV, our digital platform
  • Pitch relevant sports stories to management that connect with our local community.
  • Shoots and edits sporting events for TV and digital
  • Anchor sports segments in assigned newscasts
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with ability to ad lib when needed
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts
