Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Gameplay, Engineer to join the team working on The Witcher 4. In this role, you will design, implement, optimize, and maintain the gameplay technology that powers our games. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, programmers, and other specialists to build systems that bring our projects to life. You'll have opportunities to contribute across multiple areas of gameplay programming while helping shape robust, scalable, and engaging gameplay experiences. (This position requires working in our Warsaw Hub. Hybrid working mode available)

Daily Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, optimize, document, and maintain core gameplay systems.
  • Take ownership of key gameplay features, ensuring scalability, performance, and quality.
  • Develop tools and debugging utilities that streamline gameplay development.
  • Collaborate with designers and other specialists to create engaging gameplay mechanics.
  • Partner with design, QA, production, and other teams to define technical scope, priorities, and delivery plans.
  • Debug, profile, and resolve technical challenges across large-scale gameplay systems.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to clean, modular, and maintainable code.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level team members, share knowledge, and support the team's growth.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional programming experience in the games industry.
  • Experience contributing to the successful shipment of at least one AAA title.
  • Strong expertise in C++ and experience working with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Strong understanding of game engine architecture, algorithms, and multithreaded systems.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D vector mathematics, matrices, and linear algebra.
  • Advanced experience designing and implementing combat, animation, locomotion, or physics systems.
  • Solid debugging skills and experience resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and development tools that improve engineering workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, set goals, share knowledge, and drive initiatives independently.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments.
  • Openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and an openness to learning, experimenting, and improving are highly valued.

Estimated pay range for this position: 23 700 – 37 455 PLN gross monthly. Final offers are dependent on job-related factors like experience and qualifications.
