Job description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The position will require an understanding of and commitment to, the values of La Sierra University, NAIA, and the Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC).

As the Game Management Coordinator, this position requires compiling and reporting all statistics to the NAIA, GSAC Conference offices and posting of results to athletics website (www.lsugoldeneagles.com). On game day, the Game Management Coordinator oversees the management of student workers to ensure the set-up and tear down for home games, manage statistics computers, equipment for live streaming of the game(s), and other essential functions to hosting home events, and coordinating with opponents traveling to our sites.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND TASKS

  • To ensure a safe and hospitable game environment is created for all home and visiting teams, fans, students, officials, and administrators. 
  • Adhere to all La Sierra University, Athletics, NAIA, and GSAC policies and regulations.
  • Assist Game administrator with crowd control
  • Responsible for operating Game Management Department
  • Manages all home game day operations approximately 150 events per year including home events off-campus.
  •  Must be available at least two (2) hours before first contest and 30-60 minutes after last contest depending the sport.
  •  Assist in hiring, training and scheduling of student workers
  • Oversees all staffing of student workers for game day operations
  • Creates gameday scripts to ensure smooth operations of event
  •  Coordinates pregame and halftime festivities (i.e. National Anthem Performer, and Flag)
  • Greet and escort officials to and from designated area, prepare the officials room or locker room.
  • Assist Facilities Manager in game day set-up and striking after event
  • Proficient with PrestoSports/PrestoStats, SIDEARM Website, Volleywrite, Hudl, Production Truck
  •  Expertise and knowledge in all sections of all sanctioned sports (Scoreboards, Official Book, Game Day Operations)
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student workers for all positions at the Game Management Department.
  • Oversee KRONOS for Game Management workers and Facilities workers.
  • Manages ticket sales for all home events
  • Coordinates with all Head Coaches on game day to ensure all items are in place prior to game time.
  • Promote during games the NAIA Champions of Character program, and assist the AD and SID with the creation of COC events.
  • Make sure cameras and live stream system are working correctly before games and supervise operating systems during games.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of Athletics
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support athletic competitions and events.
  • Work in conjunction with the Sports Information Director and the Marketing department in the publicity of the events. Assist the SID on the creation, printing and distribution of Media Guides and game day publicity.
  • Be open and ready to take duties assigned by the Athletics Director, and Associate Athletic Director for Operations. Follow up the athletics calendar to ensure all game management events are in place.

This is a temporary position ending June 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal.

Wage Range: $21.45 to $33.50 per hour, based on qualifications and directly related experience.
