Job description

Konami Gaming is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team!
This position is responsible for designing, developing, and testing all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery related to games, boxes, and related equipment. This includes demonstrating a thorough knowledge of mechanical design, concept, practices, and procedures for modifications and meeting or exceeding required specifications.
What you'll be doing:
  • Utilizes ProE and other software applications, design parts and assemblies for gaming industry specializing in design of sheet metal enclosures for electronic assemblies, parts for injection molding, casting, and machining.
  • Generates Bill of Materials and completes electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Designs new mechanical hardware for gaming devices.
  • Generates engineering drawings in accordance with industry standards.
  • Manage projects as necessary.
  • Completes design and layouts of sheet metal, casting, vacuum formed parts, plastic injection molded parts or packaging into gaming related devices.
  • Participate in designing, building, testing and reviewing prototypes.
  • Controls projects from conception to completion, including testing and amending design issues that present problems or need enhancement.
  • Tests, modifies and releases designs for production with all necessary engineering documentation.
  • Reports to the Manager to ensure that schedules are met, and design projects are complete.
  • Documents projects and releases in a timely manner and prepares and presents reports, as necessary.
  • Conducts problem solving to correct production issues.
  • Reports to senior managers about any discrepancies or problems requiring resolution.
  • Recommend changes and prepare engineering changes that will have an impact on production.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding the company, products and employee information.
  • Always comply with the company's regulatory guidelines and corporate policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we'll want you to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical engineering certificate, degree, or technical school certification.
  • Eight plus years detailing of completed design projects with solid modeling components and sheet metal experience, injection molding and designing parts for machining, and safety procedure implementation.
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations, assembly and manufacturing environments; demonstrated experience with Pro Engineer (Wild Fire 2), GD&T (ANSI-14), and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, both verbal and written with all levels of the business.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Gaming licensure(s).
  • Proficient level understanding and usage of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific, electronic, or technical journals, reports, regulatory requirements and procedure manuals.

Additional Requirements:
  • Minimal travel necessary. 0-10%, or as business requires. Employee must be flexible to the travel needs of the business. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Work Environment:
  • Full-time / 40+ hours per week. Must be flexible to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be comfortable working in an area with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at computer terminal for extended periods of time. Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Must be able to work at assigned location to enable direct communications and interactions with team members, management, and others as necessary, unless traveling for a business-related purpose.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, paying attention to detail, and meeting assigned deadlines. Demonstrates high integrity, trust, and strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain excellent communication and a positive, respectful, and professional attitude and relationship with clients, employees, peers, co-workers, all levels of management, and all outside organizations conducting business or otherwise interacting with the company. Ability to always act autonomously while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures.
  • Position shall work primarily in a smoke free office environment. The noise level is low to moderate. Position shall maintain a cubicle or office in close proximity to other cubicles and offices.
  • Position may be required to attend trips to casinos, tradeshows, or as needed. Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
