Job description

Overview:

We are looking for a Senior-Level Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team! This position will be seated 100% on-site at NSWC Dahlgren, Virginia.

Travel: Negligible Clearance:

An ACTIVE Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements:

Noted experience below in cybersecurity requirements development, cyber threat analysis, cyber engineering, cyber systems architecture development or cybersecurity policy development experience:

  • Five (5) years program specific security engineering experience working with Navy afloat/tactical combat systems or ten (10) years general security engineering experience.
  • Minimum certification as IAT Level II or higher per DoD 8570.01, or successor. If performing as a Privileged User (Individuals who have access to system control, monitoring, or administration functions (e.g., system administrator, IAO/ISSO, system programmers, etc.)) a final adjudicated T-5/T-R with an IT level-1 designation in JPAS must be achieved and maintained. Privileged users must also complete Operating System (OS)/Computer Environment (CE) training for each version within six (6) months of start date. Training is the responsibility of the contracting company. Training must include an assessment, not necessarily vendor certification, with the contractor providing proof.
  • Possess an understanding of cybersecurity, military system specifications, DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies for both Land Based and afloat/tactical systems, and the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop cybersecurity requirements, policy standards, best practices, and guidance and procedures for combat systems.
  • Conduct cybersecurity related research, analysis and coordination activities in support of DOD cyber assurance and policy efforts are multiple classification levels.
  • Lead working groups to develop cybersecurity strategies to meet emerging threats.
  • Perform analysis of cybersecurity, intelligence and information technology policy gaps for combat systems.
  • Perform cybersecurity system engineering design, analysis and documentation of combat systems.
  • Develop cybersecurity risk assessment analysis and risk mitigation plans for combat systems.
  • Develop documentation of cybersecurity requirements, gap analysis, threat analysis, system engineering, risk assessment and mitigation for combat systems.
  • Develop or use MBSE models to perform cybersecurity analysis.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity is preferred Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $125,000 - $195,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
