Job description

Position Title: Information system Security Engineer (ISSE)
Location: Chantilly, VA
Clearance: Active TS/SCI required
U.S. Citizenship required
OMNI Consulting Solutions is seeking for Information system Security Engineer to provide technical cybersecurity expertise supporting system design, architecture reviews, security controls implementation, risk assessments, and accreditation efforts throughout the system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide cybersecurity engineering support throughout the system development lifecycle, from design through accreditation.
  • Support system architecture reviews to ensure security controls are appropriately designed and implemented.
  • Assist in the selection, implementation, and testing of technical security controls in accordance with RMF/CNSSI 1253.
  • Conduct or support technical risk assessments and vulnerability analyses of system designs and configurations.
  • Develop and review technical security documentation in support of the accreditation package (SSPs, security architecture diagrams, control implementation statements).
  • Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and the ISSM/ISSO to integrate security requirements into system builds.
  • Support security testing activities, including control assessments and penetration/vulnerability testing coordination.
  • Recommend technical solutions to remediate identified security weaknesses or POA&M items

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related).
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience (10+ years) in cybersecurity engineering, systems security architecture, or related technical security roles.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III or IASAE certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of network, system, and application security architecture and controls.
  • Experience supporting RMF control implementation and technical accreditation activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CI polygraph.
  • Experience with cloud, cross-domain, or enterprise IC/DoD system architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with security engineering tools (vulnerability scanners, SIEM, configuration management tools).
  • Master's degree in a related technical field.
