JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction for the Environmental Services Department, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, open communication, and exceptional guest service.
  • Oversees all Environmental Services operations to ensure a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for guests, team members, and business partners.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors cleaning programs, schedules, and quality assurance standards to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness throughout the property.
  • Evaluates departmental operations and work processes on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, productivity, cost control, and service excellence.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, departmental standards, OSHA regulations, Hazard Communication (Right-to-Know) requirements, Bloodborne Pathogens standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develops and manages departmental operating and capital budgets, monitors expenses, analyzes variances, and implements corrective actions to achieve financial objectives.
  • Establishes staffing plans based on business demands and operational needs to ensure appropriate coverage while maintaining labor efficiency goals.
  • Oversees employee scheduling and workforce deployment to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with company policies.
  • Reviews and approves payroll information for department team members, ensuring accuracy and timely submission in accordance with payroll deadlines and company procedures.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, develops, and retains a high-performing team.
  • Develops succession plans and supports the professional growth and development of department team members.
  • Manages inventory control processes, including purchasing, receiving, storage, product rotation, and distribution of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and service providers, monitors vendor performance, negotiates services when appropriate, and ensures compliance with contractual obligations and company standards.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to guest concerns, complaints, and service requests, exercising sound judgment to achieve effective resolutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in housekeeping, environmental services, facilities operations, hospitality, gaming, healthcare, or a similarly complex, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets, labor costs, staffing plans, payroll processes, and operational performance.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, developing, and leading large teams in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, service contracts, inventory controls, and purchasing processes preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses and background clearances required by the Delaware Lottery.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with guests, team members, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, scheduling software, payroll systems, and inventory management systems.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, climb, push, pull, and grasp as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
