You're about to embark on a bold, challenging, and game-changing journey. By joining our Research & Development team, you will gain valuable insights into the inner workings of a fintech start up, sustainability, solar lending and what it takes to be a reliable technology partner to purpose-driven financial institutions. You will also gain insight into Climate First Bank, a OneEthos client and subsidiary under our Holding Company.


As the remote Research & Development Intern, your primary focus is to understand the early stages of software development and provide critical support in all aspects of research, development, testing and implementation of OneEthos' products.

What You'll Contribute in This Role:

โ€ขYour main focus will be on one of the following projects, which will be assigned on or before the start date:

  • Consumer and Business Account Opening Project: Supporting the overall objective of deposit growth for Climate First Bank, you will support the transition from the legacy platform (Prelim) to our custom app.
  • Green Bank Platform Project: Supporting the overall objective of revenue diversification and solar loan growth, you will collaborate with the Senior Engineer on launching a brand new product for Green Bank in Colorado. Additionally, you will support a second objective to increase deposit growth by building technology to generate a stunning "EcoStatement" describing the impact of deposits.
  • Small Business Database Project: Supporting the overall objective of deposit growth, you will collaborate with our AI team to help build a Better Business Bureau inspired database for mission-driven small businesses.

โ€ขYou will also support the NextGen SDLC Project โ€” a joint project with other interns. Completing the overall objective of increasing speed of development while maintaining quality and making it easy to transition from R&D to Product, you and your team will:

  • Automate the PM process including PRD, Risk Assessments, etc...(AI Agent + PM)
  • Use the following standards: ShadCN Design System, Tailwind CSS, Next.JS Framework/standard, Cursor IDE, use Cursor rules and keep refining how they are used.

โ€ขYou will conduct research and help implement new technology. Heavily utilizing Al and other available resources to compile data points and logic that will help Software Developers and leadership make informed decisions.

โ€ขYou will learn how to write and debug code for feature development gaining exciting real-world exposure into coding and debugging for a fintech startup and working on small projects autonomously.

โ€ขYou will help troubleshoot software issues and help the internal and extended Climate First Bank team get back to enjoying our products quickly.

โ€ขYou will work closely with other developers to improve product functionality and help make meaningful improvements to our existing products.

โ€ขYou will support integrating 3rd-party APls and toolsets.

โ€ขYou will attend all developer meetings, gaining valuable insights into the product development process and help identify solutions and suggestions.

โ€ขYou will participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities, helping the team produce cutting edge technology solutions.
