Position Summary:
The New Orleans Pelicans are seeking a Basketball Operations Intern to support our Player Development staff during the 2026-2027 basketball season. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about player development, has strong interpersonal skills, and thrives in both administrative and customer-facing settings. This position is part-time, seasonal and will work nights, weekends and holidays based on the Pelicans home game schedule (view the schedule here).
What you will be doing:
  • Assist Player Development staff with administrative and operational tasks
  • Ability to attend all Pelicans home games
  • Support family check-in on game days, including greeting and escorting families to seats and the family room.
  • Serve as a runner for back-of-house and player development needs during games and events.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to players, families, and staff while maintaining strict discretion.
  • Communicate effectively with players, staff, and family members.
  • Manage minor issues with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Support setup and breakdown of meal spaces and daycare
  • Support BBO events as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll bring:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree (completed
  • Bachelor's degree and actively pursuing Master's degree is preferred).
  • Previous experience in sports and/or customer service strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and interactions with discretion.
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work all home games and assigned events.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated interest in player development and engagement
