Description

EPC Power is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to our engineering team. In this role you will work with experienced engineers to lead the development of automated testing software.. This will include main assembly, sub assembly, and board level test test software development. You will be responsible for continuing the development efforts of production and engineering automated test fixtures, scaling up our test software capabilities across multiple sites. 

Requirements


Responsibilities

  • Leading the development efforts of software design for test fixtures used in production and engineering testing, includes test software requirements, test reporting, and databasing.
  • Design software for mid/high volume manufacturing testing - bed of nails, inverter test fixtures on the sub assy and main assy levels
  • Support verification test for new R&D products that may include test automation/fixturing
  • Support commissioning of new test stands and validate proper functionality of hardware/software, safety, documentation & release to production
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in board and equipment functional testing, wiring checkout, FAT, and end of line testing
  • Troubleshoot system software issues as needed
  • Participate in design development and validation activities
  • Document design work & presentations
  • Occasional travel may be required (<10%)

Qualifications

  • B.Sc.  in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, M.Sc preferred
  • 7+ years experience in related to job responsibilities
  • Experience designing safety fixtures/circuits/plans for mid to high volume production line assemblies
  • Strong understanding of NI test stand/LabVIEW architecture & best practices
  • Previous experience working with MySQL/Postgres databasing
  • Strong understanding of python
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits 
  • Interested in power electronics
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and clearly communicate technical progress and challenges
  • Able to understand, maintain, and improve company electrical drawing standards
  • Familiar with typical lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering stations, signal generators, DAQ

 Desired Skills 

  • Solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of electrical power
  • Previous power electronics experience
  • Experience designing analog/digital circuitry for high accuracy measurement systems
  • Experience with typical commercial and industrial electrical power (480Vac, 3p)
