WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Kids in the Game is looking for an Operations Intern with a strong background in planning and organization to support our Operations team. This is a strategic and hands-on role that is both on the ground at programs managing equipment in the field, as well as in the office researching and planning. As an Operations Intern, you'll be helping to ensure our sites have the materials they need to provide effective programming for kids across New York City. Most importantly, you'll be contributing to a supportive, safe, and fun environment for kids to grow and learn while experiencing non-stop fun!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

At Kids in the Game, we strive to be the best part of every kid's day! As an Operations Intern, you'll be working to ensure our staff and programs are equipped with the materials needed to keep our sites running smoothly and safely. You'll be a part of our Kids in the Game community.

At the end of the day, you'll be able to participate in company-wide staff events where you can mingle with staff from all of our programs across the city, hang out, and unwind! As an Operations Intern, you can expect to:

  • Use EZ Office Inventory Management System to input and organize asset stocks
  • Assist with Department of Health compliance documentation for School Aged Child Care licensed schools
  • Organize and create site binders for school year programs
  • Organize, pack, and distribute equipment during school year and summer camp transitions
  • Complete research projects on IT services and cybersecurity

Kids in the Game offers seasonal internships throughout the year. Internships are typically 14-18 weeks long and Interns would be expected to work between 25-35 hours per week in person at our office location. Below are the dates for each season.

  • Fall 2026: September 8th - December 18th
  • Spring 2027: January 11th - May 21st
  • Summer 2027: May 24th - August 27th

Compensation: Internships are unpaid opportunities for first term Interns. There is a $200-$300 completion bonus for unpaid interns. There are also potential opportunities to extend for a second term, paid internship. We can also offer class credit where applicable.

WHAT WE'RE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate would meet some or all of the following qualifications:

  • A current college student or recent college graduate looking to gain valuable operations experience in a rapidly growing startup environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have a strong sense of organization.
  • Has experience in Excel, Google Suite, and inventory management systems.
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout NYC (Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn) with equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs over your head.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask.
