Position Overview
CUMULUS | Wilkes Barre-Scranton, PA features great brands including: WMGS FM, Adult Contemporary Magic 93, WBHT FM, HOT Adult Hits, WBSX FM, 97.9 X Active Rock and WSJR/WBHD FM, CAT Country 93.7 & 95.7 as well as our Cumulus Digital portfolio of products. The cluster radio stations reach a quarter of a million listeners on a weekly basis. C-Digital is our portfolio of Digital Advertising Products for Local Businesses.
Interns will be organized, detail-oriented, motivated self-starters looking to gain hands-on experience in the radio industry. Daily responsibilities include, and may not be limited to:
  • Handling listener relations by contacting prize winners.
  • Monitor media (newspapers, magazines, web, etc.) daily for industry-related articles.
  • Maintaining a prize winner database
  • Assembly and execution of contests and winner selection
  • Organizing and filing prize winner information
  • Writing copy and performing web updates
  • Assisting the street team at station events and appearances in the Pennsylvania area
  • Assisting with compiling of client recaps
  • Some graphic design
  • Event preparation and some event coordination
  • Fill in when needed as either play-by-play or board operator on select WEEX FOX Sports Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs home broadcasts.
  • Interview players, coaches, fans, etc. for the radio and WEEX FOX Sports broadcast before, during, and after games.
  • Search through game broadcast audio and images for highlights to be featured on social media and future broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • No experience necessary, however Customer Service experience helpful
  • Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college or trade school, and eligible for/enrolled in their internship program.
  • Must have valid driver license and clean driving record.
  • Reliable; have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least 15 hours per week up to a maximum of 180 internship hours.
  • May require lifting or moving up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Outgoing, energetic, detail-orientated and responsible
  • Proficient using computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Event experience a plus

Strong Social Media skills with sites like Facebook, X, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube and Social Bakers preferred
Pay Range
USD $15.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
