A Taste of What You'll Do

Join the Rombauer Vineyards team as a Wine Educator, where you will create welcoming, memorable guest experiences that reflect gracious hospitality, pride, fun, and brand spirit. In this role, you will be a primary customer service representative, sharing wine knowledge, winery history, and the stories that make each visit meaningful.

You will guide educational tastings, provide glass and bottle service, support tours, and help guests discover wine and non-wine products available in the tasting room. You will also support day-to-day visitor center operations, including reservation management, point-of-sale transactions, wine club signups, inventory support, and opening and closing activities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, working as part of a team, and creating a polished guest experience in both indoor and outdoor settings. You will help maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment while supporting hospitality events, responsible beverage service, and operational excellence.
 

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing, or teaching and educating others experience.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to lift and move product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operation.
  • Required to engage in frequent walking and standing.
  • Required to multi-task with focus on detail and switch gears quickly.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
  • Experienced in conflict resolution
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience in a team oriented environment.
  • Experience executing tasks or job functions that require good organizational skills and engaging in functions using own initiative.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
     

How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing, or wine education experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales or hospitality
  • Skilled in communication, presentation, sales and customer service, with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Knowledge of wine and wine production, as well as federal and state legal compliance related to tasting room operations.
  • Experience executing tasks that required attention to detail and accuracy, good organizational skills, and engaging in functions using own initiative.
