Company Description

Patrick Painter Inc seeks to fill gallery internship positions. Located in Santa Monica's Bergamot Station, these positions are ideal for those who wish to gain work experience in an active, contemporary art gallery. Applicants should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, possess good public relations skills, and must have a demonstrated interest and/or background in contemporary art. Interns will receive training in all aspects of gallery administration and get quality hands-on experience.

Job Description

We provide our interns with a wide range of focused lessons related to the day-to-day running of an art gallery. You will learn about:
-Consignments/Consignment agreements
-Loans/Loan agreements
-Artist representation
-Writing about Contemporary art
-Client management- the progression of sales from beginning to end
-Exhibition coordination (and event planning)
-Inventory database maintenance
-Art Fairs
-Proper art handling procedures

Qualifications

- Must be available 1 full day a week (10am-6pm)
- Must be intelligent, enthusiastic, self-motivated, organized and reliable.
- Must have a professional appearance.
- Must have experience with Mac OS and Microsoft Office suite.
- Art History/Fine Art background preferred, but not required.
- Previous gallery experience is a plus, but not required.
