Job Description:
Position Overview
The McEachern Art Center (MAC) is hiring Gallery Curators for the 26-27 academic year. Curators oversee gallery operations during open hours, guide visitors through exhibitions, and maintain a professional, secure, and organized space.
This role provides practical experience in gallery operations, visitor engagement, and arts administration.
Employment Term
Start of the Fall semester in August to the last day of classes.
Core Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the MAC Director
  • Lead gallery tours for guests and community members
  • Maintain gallery cleanliness and organization
  • Ensure alarm system is set and doors are secured at the end of each shift
  • Represent the MAC professionally during all open hours

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current Mercer University undergraduate or graduate student
  • Must be Federal Work-Study qualified
  • Students should contact the Financial Aid Office to confirm eligibility
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organized and dependable
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Willingness to contribute to the continued growth of the MAC

Position Details
  • Pay: $10 per hour
  • Schedule: Thursday-Saturday, 4:00pm-8:00pm (During Open Gallery Hours)
  • Hours per Week: Approximately 4-15 hours depending on staffing needs
