Internal Communications Senior Manager – North America

The Gallagher Corporate Communications Team is looking for an Internal Communications, Senior Manager who will be responsible for providing strategic counsel and hands-on execution in supporting leadership communications, large scale initiatives, and ongoing business updates across Gallagher’s Gallagher Bassett division.

The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who is comfortable advising leaders, shaping messages for diverse audiences, and able to execute those strategies across multiple channels in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. To be most successful in this role, this candidate will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to deliver high-quality work. Industry experience, and the ability to develop strategy and deliver execution through a variety of communication channels including in-person, virtual and digital will be critical for success.


How you'll make an impact

Position Summary

The Gallagher Corporate Communications Team is looking for an Internal Communications, Senior Manager who will be responsible for providing strategic counsel and hands-on execution in supporting leadership communications, large scale initiatives, and ongoing business updates across Gallagher’s Gallagher Bassett division.

To be most successful in this role, this candidate will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to deliver high-quality work. Industry experience, and the ability to develop strategy and deliver execution through a variety of communication channels including in-person, virtual and digital will be critical for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own an end-to-end internal communications strategy and plans for various projects and programs, ensuring alignment with leadership messaging, transformation initiatives, and organizational updates.
  • Successfully roll out and implement new internal products and processes with focus on employee engagement and change communications.
  • Build strong relationships with C-suite and senior leadership, business partners, divisions, and functions and provide communications counsel that guides the messaging, timing, and channel strategy.
  • Balance strategic vision with hands-on execution to deliver communication strategies effectively.
  • Create communication strategies that drive adoption, positively influence behaviors and continuously evolve based on company’s direction.
  • Define consistent communication processes across divisional workstreams to drive alignment, understanding and efficiency, which maintain an audience-focused mindset that drives adoption.
  • Manage the creation, delivery, and consistency of internal communications for the business areas you support to reflect Gallagher Bassett’s mission, voice, and brand.
  • Manage delivery channels including, but not limited to, town halls, Viva Engage, Teams, direct email, newsletters, and other communications.
  • Implement and manage communication tools and platforms to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Effectively influence and consult with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment to drive impactful initiatives and aligned communications.
  • Oversee the creation of collateral for both internal audiences, ensuring alignment with business goals and brand standards.
  • Update and manage the internal communications calendar for the business areas you support and ensure alignment to broader global calendar.
  • Develop clear narratives that reflect deep understanding of the target audiences, their needs, and differences in content required.
  • Apply metrics, insights, and best practices to continuously improve communication effectiveness and employee engagement.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of direct applicable experience.
  • Prior experience in claims handling or management is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the financial services or insurance brokerage industry is a plus.
  • Working at a large, global company with 50,000+ employees is a plus.

  • Ability to independently manage medium to high load/complexity projects.
  • Comfort and familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools and channels.
  • Able to use data and industry trends to inform communications approaches and directives.

  • Able to formulate clear objectives based on audiences, stakeholder needs, and changing business needs and priorities.
  • Able to think outside the box, apply sound judgement and original thinking to solve communication challenges

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
