Job description

Galco International Ltd., a North Phoenix holster manufacturer is seeking a part time experienced machinist. The ideal candidate constructs, alters and repairs a wide variety of tools, molds, jigs and fixtures/gauges (TMJFG) to very close tolerances. Develops strategies in fabricating designed TMJFG using most suitable machining resources and maintaining specified tolerances, meeting all quality and efficiency expectations.
Responsibilities:

  • Assists with designing TMJFG to be constructed.
  • Builds TMJFG from drawings or layouts.
  • Diagnoses and corrects problems with TMJFG.
  • Plans machining by studying blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing, drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to procedures and processes.

Work Schedule:

Part-time hours and days are available during Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. With available hours between 6:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

  • A minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Read, write and speak English.
  • Mold making, or final mold assembly or mold repair is a plus.
