Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Galco International, LTD is the manufacturer of the Galco brand, the premier American-made line of superb-quality holsters, belts and accessories. Encompassing law enforcement, military, civilian defensive and sporting use, all Galco products are proudly made in the USA since 1969.
General Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for participating in highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.
Location & Shift:
This is an on-site position located at 2019 W. Quail Ave, Phoenix Arizona. Responsibilities are for the Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-4:30PM production shift.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Orders supplies, materials and tools.
  • Estimates materials and cost to accomplish a task.
  • Read manuals and diagrams in order to plan material and labor needed to accomplish a task.
  • Inspect buildings in order to determine maintenance needs by visual observation, gages, meters and other testing devices.
  • Operate machines and other equipment to observer operation and diagnose malfunctions or to test repaired equipment.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facilities equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting in order to repair production machines.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts and make adjustments to machines.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters in order to test and repair equipment.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Preform facilities maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Uses computer to send email and do internet research.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Considerable knowledge of electric motors, pumps, pressure systems and other equipment of the maintenance trades.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles of mechanical equipment design and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Ability to operate forklift and scissor lift.
  • Ability to plan and design projects, and work form sketches, blueprints and manuals.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and climb a 12 foot step ladder. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to adjust focus.
