POSITION POSTED:   Paraeducator - Bus Route
FTE:  .5 (Part Time, 15-20 hours/week)
LOCATION:  Transportation Department
SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Associates Degree preferred
  2. ETS Parapro Assessment required
  3. Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
  4. Relate to children and adults in a positive manner
  5. Training or coursework in the area of early childhood, education or child development
  6. Successful experience working with groups of children
  7. Skills to support the school district's curriculum
  8. Basic computer skills

Job Goal:  Support students on bus. Keep students safe and in seats for the duration of the route.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support students on bus route
  • Keep students safe and in their seats for the duration of the route to and from school.
  • *Assist disabled students in their educational, personal, health, and behavioral needs such as self-care, daily living skills, physical mobility, toileting, etc., as needed.
  • *Maintain open and meaningful communication with supervisor regarding all students assigned paraprofessional support.
  • *Maintain confidentiality of school related information.
  • Attend meetings/functions/trainings as specifically directed.
  • *Participate in and utilize information gained in appropriate staff development.
  • *Demonstrates understanding of students' needs, and interacts appropriately with students, parents, and  other employees.
