We are seeking a Lead Application Engineer - Gas Engines to drive the adoption of Waukesha Gas Engine solutions for gas compression and power generation applications. In this customer-facing role, you will partner with sales teams, channel partners, consultants, developers, and end users to develop technical solutions that address complex customer needs.
Combining application engineering, technical consulting, and commercial support, you will serve as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage specification and solution development to customer presentations, training, and project execution. You'll leverage your expertise in engine performance, fuel flexibility, emissions, and application optimization to help customers maximize the value of Waukesha technology.
This role offers broad exposure to customers, industry applications, and cross-functional teams while providing the opportunity to influence high-impact projects and contribute directly to business growth. What You'll Do:
  • Drive specification and adoption of Waukesha Gas Engine solutions across gas compression and power generation markets.
  • Partner with customers, channel partners, and sales teams to develop optimized technical solutions and support commercial opportunities.
  • Provide application expertise in engine performance, fuel flexibility, emissions, and system optimization.
  • Deliver customer training, technical consultation, troubleshooting, and onsite support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product management, operations, and sales to influence product strategy and deliver customer success
What you'll have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 2 years of engineering experience in a relevant industry.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including the ability to deliver formal presentations, support technical negotiations, and explain complex engineering concepts to customers and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical and commercial issues.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience working with customers, suppliers, internal stakeholders, and various levels of leadership.
