HAVC/R Job Description:

Mechanical Services Contractor located in New Jersey is seeking Service Technicians with 5+ years of experience with commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems. Positions open for technicians servicing New York, New Jersey and Southern Connecticut metro area.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Maintain, repair and troubleshoot HVAC/R equipment to include but not limited to packaged units, split systems, Walk-in boxes and ice makers a plus.

Install, inspect, diagnose and correct problems in HVACR systems

Inspect systems and their components (e.g. air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units, etc.) to ensure safety and identify necessary repairs and provide an ongoing program of preventive maintenance

Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring on heating/air-conditioning/refrigeration systems

Diagnose problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems to identify equipment and, or systems repair and replacement needs

Job Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC Refrigeration work

Commercial industry HVAC Refrigeration background

Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.

Applicants must be proficient with the use of tablets and smart phones

EPA Certification (universal and 608) – and advanced understanding of electricity, wiring, and control circuits (all equipment), to perform maintenance and repairs

Communicate thoroughly and effectively with dispatch teams and account managers

Maintain and be accountable for material and supply requisition as needed for each job, including online purchase order execution

Ability to safely lift 50 pounds and climb ladders

Customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers

Advanced troubleshooting ability and mechanical skills

F60 FDNY Torch Ops a plus

G60 Torch Flammable Gases a plus

High school diploma or GED

Valid and clean driver’s license

Union training or NATE certifications is a plus

Off street company vehicle parking a must
