Job Description:

We are looking to hire a Latam FX / Rates Strategist, based in New York, to join our Global EM Rates & FX Strategy team in Bank of America Global Research. The role sits at the intersection of macroeconomics, currencies and rates markets, and policy analysis, with direct exposure to global investors and cross-asset teams.

This role offers a strong platform for economists who enjoy applied macro analysis, financial markets, and translating research into actionable investment views.

We require a graduate degree in economics, finance or a related field and intermediate Spanish or Portuguese skills. A few years of job experience in economic/financial analysis, or a PhD.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing high-quality macro, currency, and rates strategy research covering Latin America, with emphasis on policy developments, yield curve dynamics, and cross-market implications.
  • Developing exchange rate and interest rate forecasts, scenario frameworks, and trade recommendations using rigorous economic and quantitative analysis.
  • Publishing timely research across rates, government and policy bank bonds, swaps, and futures markets.
  • Supporting cross-asset and cross-country thematic projects with FX, Credit, Equity, and Global Macro teams.
  • Contributing to daily, weekly, and ad-hoc publications for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Engaging with institutional clients across the Americas.
  • Partnering with Global Markets teams to align research with client needs, compliance, and risk frameworks.
  • Representing Bank of America's research franchise through meetings, roadshows, webinars, and conferences.
