Job description


Position Summary:
The Distribution & Collection Operator leads a team performing maintenance, repair, and installation of water distribution and sewer collection systems, with a focus on collections/sewer plumbing expertise, while ensuring safe and reliable service.
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Distribution and Collection Operators in daily field operations
  • Install, maintain, and repair water/sewer lines, meters, and related equipment
  • Perform line repairs, leak detection, and low-pressure troubleshooting
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, cranes, forklifts, dump trucks)
  • Perform trench work, backfill, and site restoration
  • Clean sewer lines and lift station wet wells
  • Turn water meters on/off; install meters and meter boxes
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Complete work orders and field complaint forms

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • FDEP Class 3 Distribution Operator License (or ability to obtain within one year)
  • Construction experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Preferred: FDEP Class 2 License, FWPCOA Class C Collections License, Class B CDL
