POSITION SUMMARY:
The Futsal Trainer will plan, develop, and implement the futsal program curriculum while ensuring a safe, fun area for all participants to interact and enjoy. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and may involve early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervises and instructs futsal lessons.
  • Develops and leads weekly lessons
  • Maintains supervision of participants
  • Enforces safety standards
  • Follows emergency procedures
  • Sets up equipment
  • Supervises volunteers
  • Monitors the use of the facilities
  • Implements Character Development in programs
  • Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
  • Handles member/parent complaints
  • Prepare any additional materials needed for classes or clinics
  • Maintains records of attendance
  • Provides outstanding member service
  • Assists in promoting and ensuring participant retention
  • Promotes a safe and welcoming environment for all
  • Abides by all YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids policies and procedures

Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association.
COMPENSATION
$20.80 - $25.70 ; Part Time, Non Exempt (up to 25 hours/week)

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Five or more related years of experience in futsal programming and instruction; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
  • YMCA experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
  • State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
  • Blood Borne Pathogen training
  • CPR Certification required within the first 90 days
  • First Aid Certification required within the first 90 days

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
