ABOUT THE ROLE
The Philadelphia Union Futsal Academy is seeking passionate, energetic, and experienced coaches to develop the next generation of players through a high-performance futsal environment. Coaches will deliver age-appropriate training sessions while implementing the Philadelphia Union player development philosophy and fostering a positive, challenging, and inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of futsal, enjoys mentoring young athletes, and is committed to helping players improve technically, tactically, physically, and mentally.
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate futsal training sessions for players ages U7-U19.
  • Implement the Philadelphia Union playing philosophy and coaching methodology.
  • Create a positive, safe, and player-centered learning environment.
  • Develop players' technical ability, decision-making, creativity, and game intelligence through futsal.
  • Coach academy teams during leagues, tournaments, showcases, and special events.
  • Communicate professionally with players, parents, and academy staff.
  • Assist with player evaluations and provide developmental feedback.
  • Support Philadelphia Union Academy initiatives, camps, clinics, and community events as needed.
  • Ensure all training sessions meet safety standards and organizational expectations.
  • Maintain attendance records and complete coaching reports as required.
  • Represent the Philadelphia Union with professionalism both on and off the court.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous coaching experience in futsal and/or soccer.
  • Strong knowledge of player development principles.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Passion for youth development and creating positive player experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff.

Preferred
  • US Soccer Grassroots License or higher.
  • United States Futsal Coaching License or equivalent.
  • Experience coaching elite youth players.
  • Playing experience in futsal or high-level soccer.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
