Retail Store & Outlet Manager

Job Overview

The Retail Store & Outlet Manager is a leader within Bob's Discount Furniture (BDF) responsible for driving sales, operational excellence, and culture across both the traditional retail showroom and the outlet environment. This role blends full-store leadership with outlet sales and warehouse operations, ensuring a world-class guest experience while upholding The Bob's Way and Bob's Core Values.

This leader sets the tone for performance, safety, accountability, and engagement while developing high-performing teams that consistently exceed sales, operational, and customer satisfaction goals.

This is a full-time, in-store leadership role requiring a flexible retail schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability as business needs require.

Core Purpose of the Role

To lead, inspire, and develop store and outlet teams by driving profitable sales growth, ensuring seamless front-end and back-end operations, maintaining inventory integrity, and fostering a culture rooted in Bob's Core Values.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales, Customer Experience & Culture

Drive store and outlet sales performance, achieving or exceeding budgeted sales, margin, and KPI targets.
Ensure a consistent, world-class guest experience across the showroom, outlet floor, and warehouse operations.
Lead by example to reinforce company culture, selling behaviors, and customer engagement standards.
Assess coaching effectiveness to ensure leaders within the store and outlet are delivering clear, actionable guidance that drives associate performance and results.
Maintain a strong community presence as a brand ambassador for Bob's Discount Furniture.

Store, Outlet & Warehouse Operations

Oversee all aspects of store, outlet, and warehouse operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
Maintain accurate inventory practices including cycle counts, take-with tracking, tagging, staging, and inventory reconciliation.
Ensure all processes of inventory management are executed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure visual standards and outlet merchandising are maintained to optimize sales and guest experience.
Enforce all safety, security, cash handling, and opening/closing procedures.

Leadership & People Management

Lead, coach, and develop Store Leadership, Outlet Experience Specialists (OXS), Product Support Associates (PSA), and all store associates.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Identify high-potential talent and partner with Human Resources on development, succession planning, and performance management.
Execute employee relations and disciplinary actions in partnership with Human Resources, Operations, and Loss Prevention.
Lead new associate onboarding and orientation in alignment with company standards.

Planning, Scheduling & Systems

Create and manage effective schedules for store, outlet, and warehouse teams, ensuring alignment with business trends and labor goals.
Demonstrate proficiency in operational systems and reporting tools used to drive store performance.
Analyze performance data and develop strategic action plans to improve sales, labor, inventory, and customer metrics.

Flexibility & Cross-Store Support

Maintain availability during peak business times, including nights and weekends.
Respond to store alarms and emergencies outside of operating hours when required.
Provide support to neighboring stores or outlets as business needs dictate.
