What does a furniture engineer do?

A furniture engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing furniture to ensure it is functional, safe, and meets quality standards. They blend principles of engineering and design to create furniture pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound. Furniture engineers work with various materials, such as wood, metal, and plastics, and often collaborate with designers and manufacturers to bring concepts to life. Their work may involve using computer-aided design (CAD) software, prototyping, and overseeing the production process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a furniture engineer?

To thrive as a Furniture Engineer, you need a background in mechanical or industrial engineering, materials science, and experience with furniture design principles.
