Position Overview
We are seeking a CST Operator to join our Operations team at our Coldwater, Michigan manufacturing facility.
This position combines hands-on production responsibilities with technical and developmental support for the department's management team. The CST Operator will handle materials and finished powder products, operate and monitor specialized production equipment, support packaging and inventory activities, and assist with material development trials.
This role requires a dependable, mechanically inclined operator who is comfortable working independently, using computer-based production systems, troubleshooting process issues, and working from heights when required.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate spray drying equipment, PLC controls, batch/feed tanks, and multiple screening and blending systems.
  • Operate packaging equipment, scales, SG100/HE100 plasma systems, and supporting production equipment.
  • Perform spray dryer cleaning and support safe, reliable operation of department equipment.
  • Manage material movement and inventory activities, including KANBAN and scrap inventory.
  • Support material development trials by operating equipment at varying process parameters, evaluating results, and assisting with process optimization.
  • Apply working knowledge of blending, sieving, screening, sintering, and general furnace operations to support daily production.
  • Complete required production activities and system transactions, including daily use of GSS as required.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, communicate concerns, and work independently or collaboratively to maintain production flow.
  • Follow applicable quality, ISO, safety, and operating requirements while performing assigned work.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience

  • Hands-on experience with industrial manufacturing or processing equipment
  • Practical knowledge of blending, sieving, screening, sintering, and furnace operations preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using computer-based manufacturing systems; experience with GSS preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively collaborate as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to work from heights
  • Must obtain and maintain required crane and forklift licenses
