What does a funnel designer do?

A funnel designer creates and optimizes sales funnels to guide potential customers through the buying process. They use tools like landing pages, email sequences, and analytics to improve conversion rates and user experience, often working with marketing and design teams.

What is the highest paid design job?

In the field of funnel design, senior roles such as Lead Funnel Designer or UX/UI Director tend to have the highest salaries, often exceeding six figures, especially with extensive experience and advanced skills in tools like Figma or Adobe XD. High-level design positions in digital marketing agencies or tech companies typically offer the highest compensation for experienced professionals.

What are some common challenges faced by funnel designers and how can they be addressed?

Funnel designers often face challenges such as aligning marketing strategies with user experience, optimizing conversion rates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams like sales and development. Navigating frequent changes in campaign goals or target audiences can also add complexity. To address these challenges, it's essential to maintain clear communication with stakeholders, regularly analyze funnel metrics, and stay updated on best practices in user journey mapping and A/B testing. Leveraging collaboration tools and feedback loops can help ensure the funnel design remains effective and meets business objectives.

What is funnel design?

Funnel design refers to the process of creating a strategic path that guides potential customers through various stages, from initial awareness to making a purchase or taking a desired action. This involves designing and optimizing landing pages, email sequences, and calls to action to maximize conversions and user engagement. Effective funnel design helps businesses streamline their marketing and sales processes, identify areas for improvement, and increase revenue by nurturing leads more efficiently.

How to start as a funnel designer?

To start as a funnel designer, gain skills in marketing, copywriting, and design tools like Figma or Sketch. Develop an understanding of sales processes and user experience, and build a portfolio of funnel projects to showcase your work. Certifications in digital marketing or funnel building can also enhance your credibility and job prospects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Funnel Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Funnel Designer, you need a solid understanding of digital marketing, conversion optimization, and user experience principles, typically supported by experience in sales funnels and marketing strategies. Familiarity with funnel-building platforms like ClickFunnels, Leadpages, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics is essential. Strong communication, creativity, and analytical thinking help you craft compelling user journeys and collaborate effectively with teams. These skills ensure that funnels are both technically sound and strategically designed to maximize conversions and achieve business goals.

Job description

Company Overview:

Do you enjoy making a difference in a child's life, transforming education, and evolving learning? Come join Teachstone, the interaction company! Teachstone was founded in 2008 to deliver the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) nationwide and around the globe. Developed through years of research, the CLASS observation tool measures the interactions between teachers and children, which have been shown to drive learning and lifelong achievement. Teachstone helps organizations conduct classroom observations and provides professional development so that teachers improve, and children learn more. Our online subscription service, myTeachstone, simplifies CLASS implementation by combining observation data with a robust library of CLASS resources and professional development.

At Teachstone, everything we do is about improving the ways teachers interact with their students. We train coaches and observers, build and deliver online support programs, design professional development - all of it grounded in one proven fact: the interactions teachers have with students have a lasting impact on their academic and developmental success. By helping educators describe, measure and improve their interactions and relationships with students, Teachstone is transforming education nationwide, one interaction at a time.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a strategic, data-driven, and execution-focused Director of Growth Marketing to own our revenue marketing system end-to-end. In this role, you will be directly responsible for pipeline creation, funnel efficiency, audience strategy execution, and total performance accountability. As a leader, you will oversee and mentor a high-performing team consisting of our Demand Generation, Events, and Lifecycle Marketing. You will sit at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating business targets into actionable growth plans, managing the growth marketing budget, and ensuring tight alignment with our Sales and Product Marketing teams to drive predictable revenue.

Role Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Ecosystem Ownership

  • Connected Ecosystem Architecture: Design and optimize the interconnected journey that takes someone who has never heard of us, turns them into a high-intent lead, guides them through the sales close, and continuously nurtures them throughout their lifetime as a customer.
  • Quarterly Growth Plans: Develop and execute the quarterly growth blueprint, setting clear pipeline and conversion targets that align with overall business goals.
  • Audience Prioritization: Partner closely with Product Marketing to translate audience insights into targeted, high-yield marketing strategies.
  • Integrated Campaigns: Build and oversee a cohesive, omni-channel campaign strategy that cuts through the noise and engages prospects at every stage of the buyer's journey.

Funnel & Channel Optimization

  • End-to-End Funnel Performance: Own the marketing metrics from top-of-funnel to revenue (MQL - SQL - Pipeline - Revenue). Continuously diagnose and fix funnel leakage to improve conversion rates.
  • Channel Mix & Budget Allocation: Strategically plan and allocate the marketing budget across diverse demand channels (Paid Media, Email, Webinars, Events) to maximize ROI and efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, elevate, and bring together a team of specialists across Demand Gen, Events, and Lifecycle marketing to achieve cohesive growth goals.
  • Marketing-Growth Alignment: Maintain a lockstep relationship with the Sales organization, ensuring consistent lead quality, shared pipeline goals, and tight feedback loops that help close deals faster.

Role Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years of growth/demand generation marketing experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplinary teams (Edtech or B2B experience preferred).
  • Funnel Mastery: Deep expertise in building and optimizing full-funnel marketing engines. You know how to scale paid channels, optimize email lifecycles, and leverage events for pipeline.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Strong analytical skills. You live in dashboards, love attribution modeling, and make budget decisions based on hard data, not gut feelings.
  • Collaboration Skills: A proven track record of partnering successfully with Sales and Product Marketing teams to achieve shared revenue goals.
  • Agility: A builder's mentality. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, prioritizing ruthlessly, and driving rapid experimentation.

What We Offer

  • Fair, Competitive Pay: We ensure equal pay for equal work, using consistent salary bands based on market benchmarks, reviewed annually. Prior salaries, negotiation skills, or fear of conflict don't influence your pay.
  • Salary Range: $112,000-$140,000 determined by your experience
  • Comprehensive benefits:We offer an inclusive benefits package to support your overall well-being. Eligibility depends on your role and employment status.

Ready to Make a Difference?

At Teachstone, we believe that every interaction shapes a brighter future. If you're passionate about transforming education and want to be part of a team that's committed to meaningful impact, we want to hear from you. Apply today and help us create classrooms where every child thrives!

We encourage all individuals to apply and bring their unique perspectives to our team. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
