Funnel Design information

What is funnel design?

Funnel design refers to the process of creating a strategic path that guides potential customers through various stages, from initial awareness to making a purchase or taking a desired action. This involves designing and optimizing landing pages, email sequences, and calls to action to maximize conversions and user engagement. Effective funnel design helps businesses streamline their marketing and sales processes, identify areas for improvement, and increase revenue by nurturing leads more efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a funnel designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Funnel Designer, you need a solid understanding of digital marketing, conversion optimization, and user experience principles, typically supported by experience in sales funnels and marketing strategies. Familiarity with funnel-building platforms like ClickFunnels, Leadpages, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics is essential. Strong communication, creativity, and analytical thinking help you craft compelling user journeys and collaborate effectively with teams. These skills ensure that funnels are both technically sound and strategically designed to maximize conversions and achieve business goals.

What are some common challenges faced by funnel designers and how can they be addressed?

Funnel designers often face challenges such as aligning marketing strategies with user experience, optimizing conversion rates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams like sales and development. Navigating frequent changes in campaign goals or target audiences can also add complexity. To address these challenges, it's essential to maintain clear communication with stakeholders, regularly analyze funnel metrics, and stay updated on best practices in user journey mapping and A/B testing. Leveraging collaboration tools and feedback loops can help ensure the funnel design remains effective and meets business objectives.

What is the difference between Funnel Design vs Web Design?

AspectFunnel DesignWeb Design

While Funnel Design focuses on creating effective sales funnels to maximize conversions, Web Design involves designing the overall look and feel of websites. Both roles require a good understanding of user experience, but Funnel Design is more specialized in marketing strategies and conversion tactics, whereas Web Design emphasizes visual aesthetics and site functionality.

How to start as a funnel design?

To start as a funnel designer, develop skills in marketing, user experience, and graphic design, and learn to use tools like ClickFunnels or Figma. Building a portfolio of funnel projects and gaining experience through online courses or certifications can help establish credibility in the field.

Is funnel design in demand?

Funnel design is in high demand as businesses increasingly rely on digital marketing and sales funnels to optimize customer journeys. Professionals skilled in tools like ClickFunnels, Leadpages, or HubSpot, and with knowledge of conversion rate optimization, are sought after in marketing and sales roles.

What does a funnel design do?

A funnel designer creates visual representations of sales or marketing processes to guide potential customers through each stage, from awareness to conversion. They use tools like flowcharts and software to optimize user experience and improve conversion rates, often collaborating with marketing and sales teams.

Job description

About Bizee
Bizee (formerly Incfile) has helped more than one million entrepreneurs start and manage their businesses. We're transforming from a transaction-focused formation business into an AI-powered operating system for entrepreneurs. We champion the everyday entrepreneur-self-determination, grit, earned success. No fluff, no jargon, no pretense. We work hard, ship fast, and let our products speak for themselves.
The Role
Bizee's acquisition engine drives substantial traffic, but conversion rate and revenue-per-visitor remain under-optimized. This role exists to close that gap. As Principal PM for Growth, you own the on-site conversion funnel end-to-end: package selection, checkout, post-checkout, and every pricing-surface presentation. You'll own the backlog of a dedicated Growth team; shaping priorities and being accountable for shipping metric moving strategies. You build and run the A/B testing program with statistical rigor (orthogonal testing with intention, no underpowered reads). You translate pricing and packaging strategy into shipped, measurable outcomes. Where paid media buys the visitor, you convert them.
The measure of success in this role is simple: demonstrable improvement in key business conversion metrics: visitor-to-purchase conversion rate and revenue per visitor. You will be held accountable to outcomes, not outputs. You will create the transparency, quality, and consistency that makes those results trustworthy and repeatable through:
  • A healthy Growth team backlog. Clear prioritization, sequencing, and documented funnel requirements with acceptance criteria that engineering can build against.
  • A real experimentation system. Test backlog, orthogonal scheduling, and documented read standards. A predictable test cadence with measurable improvement vs. baseline.
  • Trustworthy instrumentation. Complete GA4 and Amplitude audit with gaps triaged and a fix plan in place; a live revenue-per-visitor dashboard the team actually uses.
  • Pricing activation playbook. A repeatable system for taking research to on-site SKUs, bundles, test plans, and rollouts.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Deeply analytical. You think in statistical power, sample sizing, and segment-level reads; you know when a read isn't a read. You're able to pull and interpret funnel + behavioral data without always going through engineering or analytics.
  • Marketing systems fluency. You understand how paid traffic behaves differently in a funnel and why that matters for test design. You're familiar with UTM hygiene, attribution, downstream consequences of instrumentation gaps and how tracking breaks in practice.
  • Conversion-focused, not feature-focused. You frame problems in terms of conversion, revenue per visitor, and checkout drop-off, not feature launches. You have a track record of running structured experiments that produced credible, actionable reads.
  • CRO execution experience. You've worked with StatSig, Optimizely, VWO, or equivalent and know their limitations. You understand pricing psychology, packaging presentation, and how small UI decisions move purchase behavior.
  • AI Amplification, not replacement. You're comfortable working alongside AI tools for analysis, hypothesis generation, or personalization and are thoughtful about where they help vs. where they introduce noise in test design.
  • Cross-functional collaboration. You work effectively across engineering, data, design, marketing, finance, and operations; building alignment without creating bottlenecks. You understand that success means driving outcomes through others, not around them.

What Will Make You Stand Out
  • You've built or rebuilt an experimentation program from scratch or managed large scale programs with high complexity tests.
  • You've worked in e-commerce CRO, SaaS funnel optimization, or performance marketing analytics.
  • You've used AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, competitive analysis, or experiment prioritization and have a point of view on where they're useful vs. where they introduce risk.

What We Don't Necessarily Care About
  • Prestigious company names on your resume.
  • Formal MBA or CS degrees (results matter more).
  • Years of experience (show us your impact and velocity).
  • PMM, brand, or campaign experience (this is a conversion and experimentation role).
  • Polished corporate personas (we want authentic, high-output operators).
