Job Description

Section 1: Position Summary

In addition to duties performed by a Senior Trust Analyst, the Senior Specialist is able to assume broader responsibilities that directly support their Manager. From leading projects and process improvement initiatives, to supporting the onboarding and learning of new associates, to serving as a temporary back-up in the Manager's absence, the Senior Specialist will demonstrate advanced communication and decision making skills.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert who represents the broader interests of the department or division by both leading and participating in strategic initiatives, projects, and organization change management.

  • Partners with Manager to design and execute on-boarding plans for new associates.

  • Provides backup coverage for Manager on interim and short-term basis

  • Provides effective and timely verbal and written communications in a clear, concise and informative written manner

  • Masters the I-Client Philosophy and approach and is able to positively influence their teams use of the I-Will Statements

  • Provides additional support for Consultants to assist with their mission of driving World Class Client Satisfaction

  • Capable of performing for all aspects of trust reporting, so they can assist Consultants during times of peak resource demand

  • Supports Total Quality Management procedures within own workgroup to ensure work going to client is 100% accurate

  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

  • Our I-Client service philosophy and our Core Values of People Matter, Quality First and Integrity Always should be visible in your actions on a day to day basis showing your support of our organizational culture.

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned

Supervision

  • Act as a back up to Manager

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 10 or more years ERISA experience in the pension industry

  • Advanced Word, Excel (Expert level), and Outlook skills

  • Advanced written and oral communication skills

  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of all pension plan types

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet in connection with business operations, including related ERISA compliance matters

  • Ability to effectively plan and assign work and supervise support staff

  • Leverages extensive ERISA knowledge to consult and resolve pressing client issues
