The Role
RedMane has a full-time opportunity for a Technical/Functional Architect as we continue to grow our Chicago based practice.
We are seeking an experienced Technical/Functional Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of finance systems (ERP or financial platforms). This role bridges business and technology, ensuring financial processes are translated into scalable, compliant, and high-performing system solutions.
The architect will work closely with finance stakeholders, business teams, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end financial system solutions that support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Solution Design
  • Lead the design of finance system solutions (e.g.,GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Budgeting), including data flows, integrations,and reporting.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and alignedwith enterprise architecture standards.

2. Finance Functional Leadership
  • Translate finance business requirements intofunctional and technical specifications.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis, define accounting rules andworkflows, and optimize processes across core financemodules.
  • Support alignment with applicable accountingstandards and regulatory requirements.

3. Delivery, Integration & Technical Oversight
  • Guide full lifecycle delivery from requirementsthrough design, build, test, and go-live.
  • Design integrations with upstream and downstreamsystems (HR, procurement, BI, external interfaces) using APIs andmiddleware.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams andensure data integrity, performance, and security.

4. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Act as the liaison between Finance, IT, and businessstakeholders, translating complex concepts into business-friendlylanguage.
  • Facilitate requirements and architectureworkshops.
  • Define best practicesand identify opportunities for automation, optimization, andprocess improvement.

  • The base pay offered will be determined on factorssuch as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, andeducation. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near thetop of the range. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Areasonable estimate of the current range is $150,000/year to $230,000/year.
