Job description

Sales Account Manager
Full-Time | Competitive Compensation + Comprehensive Benefits
Location: Livonia, MI
Build Relationships. Drive Growth. Represent a Trusted Industry Leader.
Our Client, a nationally recognized leader in disaster recovery and property restoration, is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Sales Account Manager to develop new commercial business while growing and managing long-term client partnerships.
This opportunity is ideal for a polished, highly motivated sales professional with a proven track record of cold calling, prospecting, and developing new business from the ground up. Success in this role comes from building trust, creating lasting relationships, and becoming a valued resource for commercial clients.
Unlike organizations that provide an established book of business, Our Client is looking for someone who can build their own territory through strategic prospecting, networking, and relationship development, creating new opportunities for the operations team in a relatively short timeframe.
If you are energized by winning new business, expanding existing accounts, and representing one of the industry's most respected brands, this is your opportunity.
Compensation & Benefits
Our Client offers competitive compensation, discretionary bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including:
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Life & Disability Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off
  • Ongoing training and professional development
Position Overview
As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while managing long-term customer relationships across your assigned market.
You will:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts through cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying additional service opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Represent Our Client at trade shows, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline and consistently generate qualified opportunities for the operations team.

This position is ideal for someone who combines strong relationship-building skills with a hunter mentality and thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Generate new business through strategic cold calling, prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Develop new commercial relationships from the ground up rather than relying on an existing customer base.
  • Schedule meetings with key decision-makers including Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Building Engineers, Risk Managers, and other commercial stakeholders.
  • Leverage existing industry contacts when possible while continuously developing new relationships.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and activity targets.
Account Management & Growth
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial accounts for long-term success.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with customers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through responsive communication.
  • Maintain regular follow-up with clients to strengthen long-term partnerships.
Marketing & Brand Representation
  • Attend trade shows, networking events, association meetings, and marketing functions.
  • Represent the company professionally within the local business community.
  • Organize and host client appreciation and marketing events.
  • Set up marketing displays and distribute promotional materials.
  • Report marketing activity and measurable results to leadership.
Collaboration & Customer Satisfaction
  • Work closely with local operations and national account teams.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Promote teamwork across departments to ensure client satisfaction.
Performance & Reporting
  • Monitor sales metrics, forecasts, and revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and account documentation.
  • Track account performance and business development activities.
  • Stay current on company services, competitors, and industry trends.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Proven success in outside sales and business development, with a strong emphasis on cold calling and prospecting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a book of business from scratch.
  • Experience generating meetings with new prospects and converting them into long-term clients.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with exceptional relationship-building abilities.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working under deadlines and performance expectations.
  • Willingness to attend required operational and safety training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling to Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Healthcare Facilities, Manufacturing, Commercial Real Estate, Industrial, or Institutional clients.
  • Existing network of commercial contacts within the Livonia/Detroit market.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Recent graduates with a Marketing or Business degree and exceptional networking or sales aptitude will also be considered.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is:
  • Professional and polished
  • Relationship-focused with a strong hunter mentality
  • Confident making cold calls and opening new doors
  • Goal-driven and highly self-motivated
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Skilled at building trust with new clients
  • Persistent, resilient, and motivated by business development success
  • Able to represent a nationally recognized brand with confidence and professionalism
Why Join Our Client?
  • Represent one of the most respected brands in property restoration and disaster recovery.
  • Work in a recession-resistant industry with strong long-term growth.
  • Gain exposure to commercial, healthcare, industrial, educational, and institutional markets.
  • Receive support from experienced operational and national account teams.
  • Build significant long-term earning potential by developing and growing your own book of business.
  • Enjoy ongoing training, career development, and advancement opportunities.
