Job description

Conestoga Golf and Country Club is seeking a positive minded individual to be part of our dynamic hospitality team. The individual must be energetic, well organized and possess strong communication skills. The environment will be fun and fast paced with emphasis on customer experience and satisfaction.

Summary:

The Seasonal Line Cook position gives the applicant the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team in a fun, fast paced environment. As a Line Cook you will be a pivotal team member supporting our restaurant and banquet event services.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating during service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure food quality and consistency meet golf course standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate food products using FIFO principles.
  • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with banquet, tournament, and special event food preparation as required.
  • Perform opening and closing kitchen duties.
  • Maintain professional communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar kitchen role preferred.
  • FoodSafe Certification or provincial equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
