Job description

Job Description
The Center for Advanced Imaging Research at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time research scientist with expertise in focused ultrasound technology, especially for drug delivery research.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to ongoing research projects, as well as develop their own research program over time, and additionally will provide supervision to staff and fellows within the laboratory. Ongoing research in the Department include both preclinical and clinical research using focused ultrasound (FUS). These projects include NIH-funded studies using FUS to enhance the delivery of medications (e.g., nanoparticles encapsulated with antiretroviral medications and CRISPR agents to treat HIV) and MR-guided FUS to modulate brain function to treat animal models of addiction.
Qualifications
This position requires a PhD degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to research, teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting. Faculty rank is commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience.
