• Develop and execute enterprise-wide purchasing strategy for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, materials, and subcontracted labor
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate agreements with key suppliers and manufacturers, including national/regional pricing agreements
• Build and maintain a resilient, diversified supplier base to protect against material shortages and lead-time volatility
• Lead high-value contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships at the executive level
Cost Control & Budget Oversight
• Own the purchasing budget and drive company-wide cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives
• Monitor commodity and material market trends and proactively adjust sourcing strategy in response
• Partner with Finance and Estimating to ensure accurate material cost forecasting for bids and projects

• Set team goals, performance standards, and career development plans
• Build organizational purchasing capability and bench strength to support company growth
Risk Management & Compliance

• Ensure purchasing practices comply with company policy, contract requirements, and applicable regulations
• Develop contingency and expediting plans for critical, long-lead-time, or single-source materials

• Provide purchasing and market insight to support estimating, bidding, and business development
• Report on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supply chain risk to executive leadership
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field required; MBA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience, including 5+ years in a purchasing leadership role
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or construction industries strongly preferred; mission-critical/data center experience a plus
• Proven track record negotiating high-value supplier and vendor contracts
• Strong working knowledge of ERP and procurement systems
• Excellent analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional influence skills
