Position Description:
Support Naval Research Laboratory Space Systems Development Division (SSDD). The primary objective of the SSDD is to develop command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) hardware and software solutions to space, airborne, and ground applications.
We are seeking a mid-level Windows Systems Administrator with 5-10 years of experience supporting
Department of Defense (DoD) environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience
administering modern Windows Server and Windows endpoint platforms, enforcing DoD security
standards, and supporting mission-critical systems in regulated or classified networks.
Required Experience:
โ€ข5-10 years of Windows Systems Administration experience
โ€ขExperience supporting DoD or Federal IT environments
โ€ขStrong knowledge of Windows Server 2016+ and Windows 11
โ€ขHands-on experience with DISA STIGs and SCAP tools
โ€ขFamiliarity with RMF and NIST 800-53 - Highly Desired
โ€ขExperience working in controlled or classified environments
Skills Required:
โ€ขSecurity+ CE (DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant)
โ€ขMicrosoft Windows certifications or equivalent experience
โ€ขRMF or CISSP preferred
Key responsibilities:
โ€ขAdminister Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments
โ€ขSupport Windows 11 Enterprise endpoints
โ€ขManage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and trusts
โ€ขImplement and remediate DISA STIGs
โ€ขConduct SCAP scans and vulnerability remediation
โ€ขSupport RMF activities and POA&M; remediation
โ€ขPerform system patching, monitoring, and incident response
โ€ขSupport backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations
โ€ขParticipate in change management and CCB processes
โ€ขMaintain system documentation and accreditation artifacts
Salary:
The projected salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary.Salary will be set based on experience and contractual requirements.
