Taste Gourmet
Director of Sales & Events
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer | Department: Event Planning & Sales | Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Bring the WOW
Taste Gourmet brings exceptional, chef-driven catering to clients across the Washington, DC metro area. We're redefining what catering can be in this city — extraordinary food, hospitality-first service, and flawless execution at every event, every time. We're looking for a Director of Sales & Events who shares that ambition and wants to lead the team that makes it happen.
About the Role
As Director of Sales & Events, you'll lead our Sales & Planning team and own the client experience from first inquiry through flawless event execution. You'll build a collaborative, high-performing culture that hits ambitious sales goals without ever losing sight of the hospitality that sets Taste Gourmet apart.
You'll drive new business development, shape proposals and pricing strategy alongside the COO and CEO, and manage the full sales pipeline — with a clear mandate: grow annual revenue by hitting and exceeding individual and team targets. You'll deepen our venue and partner relationships, build new strategic partnerships, coach Event Planners to convert more inquiries into bookings, and spot upsell opportunities that elevate every client's event.
You'll also lead sales, marketing, and business development strategy across both of our brands, DC Taste and B. Lin Catering, keeping our positioning sharp and consistent as we grow.
This role is best suited to someone with a genuine passion for food and hospitality — someone who can speak fluently about menus, beverage pairings, event logistics, and where the industry is heading, and who brings that expertise into every proposal and every client conversation.
