Description:

Bishop Miege Catholic High School is located in northeast Johnson County and is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Facilities and Maintenance. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient physical plant on a twenty-four hour, seven days a week basis. This position will average 40 hours per week and requires the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Custodial and Maintenance Team - Recruits, trains, schedules, and leads day and evening maintenance team
  • Manages Operational Budget
  • Oversees Contractors/Outside Vendors
  • Maintains inspections/maintenance of systems
  • Manages Student Work-Study Program
  • Works with the President to oversee major projects for remodeling, maintaining, and improving the physical plant and grounds, and coordinate the use of facilities, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Develops procedures for after duty hours emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
  • Other Duties as assisgned/needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of the Custodial and Maintenance Team
  • Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office / Google

Qualifcations:

  • Bachelor's degree or appropriate certifications in maintenance/ engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with HVAC, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, sanitation, mechanics, locksmithing, grounds maintenance, and janitorial care. 10+ years experience is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in maintenance
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred
