Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as a Program Manager within the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Domestic Hardware & Services Business Area in Huntsville, AL. IBCS, which integrates disparate sensors and effectors, is the centerpiece of the US Army's modernization of air and missile defense.

As the Senior Program Manager, you will directly report to IBCS business area leadership and be responsible for all programmatic elements including cost, technical and schedule performance. In addition to managing programmatic elements of the IBCS portfolio, you will lead initiatives to drive out cost, control risk, and effectively implement change. You will interface with program leadership, integrated product teams, functional leadership, and external customer stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Own end-to-end execution of a complex hardware development and production program
  • Integrate engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, contracts, business management into a single executable program plan aligned with customer and business commitments
  • Build strong relationships with external customer focused on collaboration and transparency
  • Key leader in defining requirements, proposal development, and contract negotiations
  • Maintain direct awareness of program execution and proactively remove barriers
  • Responsible for forecasting and achieving internal financial performance goals including sales and profit margin
  • Leads comprehensive development and management of program risk & opportunity, inclusive of risk mitigation and opportunity realization activities
  • Collaborates as a member of a joint CCB with the US Army customer to oversee change activities for nature and phase of program

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of program management leadership experience OR Master's degree with 6 years of program management experience OR 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience leading complex hardware production programs
  • Experience operating within a cross-functional execution environment
  • Experience in program-level financial management and reporting (Earned Value Management, Control Account Management, Risk Management)
  • Experience managing customer-facing execution
  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience transitioning a program from Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD) through Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full Rate Production (FRP)
  • Program leadership experience with an Integrated Product Team (IPT) focused execution framework
  • Leadership of large scale proposal development efforts
  • Experience leading complex programs with multifaceted scope inclusive of production, fielding, and sustainment
  • Familiarity with command and control systems and air and missile defense
  • Experience working with the US Army
  • Program management experience on an ACAT-1 program

Primary Level Salary Range: $184,300.00 - $276,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
